Sorry, but more on Jimmy Carter in Cuba. This is perfect. Just perfect.

Man, I harp on the Europeans about their anti-semitism, but it looks like I don't have to cross an ocean to find hatred of Jews. This sickens me -- disgusting hate coming from college students. And the police doing nothing in the face of death threats. Let this stuff slide, and you invite more. Scary stuff. Why in the world is it okay to do this to Jews, but if gays or blacks were treated in the same way, the media and college administrators everywhere would be going nuts? What a joke. What hypocrisy.

When I was in the Navy, the Safety Office of the Navy Department did a study and found out that putting up "safety posters" (you know the one's I mean....) has absolutely no discernable effect on safety. Here's an interesting article from OpinionJournal that says anti-drug ads have no effect. Both cases seem almost intuitively obvious to me. But just as the Navy had "Design a safety poster" contests to no effect, the government continues to spend millions of dollars on "This is your brain on drugs" advertisements that don't change anyone's behavior. But of course, that's par for the course, I suppose.

One more though on Jimmy Carter: He is a wonderful representative of one of democracy's greatest strengths -- the ability of the people to vote a horrible leader out of office.

Here's a good link in the culture war --Alliance for Marriage. The Federal Marriage Act was introduced in Congress today. A good amendment to support if there ever was one.

So Jimmy Carter is calling for an end to the embargo in Cuba. He was President, right? Did he do anything to end the embargo or improve relations with Cuba then? No. He thinks Cuba's healthcare is wonderful. Would he ever even consider traveling to Havana to have necessary surgery? No, of course not. And to top it all off, Carter has the audacity to call the Bush Adminstration liars because, well, Fidel said they were. There's nothing more pathetic than watching a man try to win the Nobel Peace Prize.(For more on Carter's bozo-ness, read Jonah Goldberg's column today)

The foolishness and stupidity of politicians is staggering. OpinionJournal has a great article today on how California tried to pass laws to "solve" their energy crisis, and instead merely created opportunities for energy companies (even Enron!) to make money in unbelievably sweet arbitrage deals. The whole history of the 20th century government can be summed up by pointing out how stupid politicians are in thinking they can control markets. Good grief, that's a silly notion. As P.J. O'Rourke said, the biggest lie in communism is the idea that something is worth anything else other than what people are willing to pay for it.

Here is what happens when you vote Democratic.

"Watching Carter's trip from the sidelines will be perhaps the most staunchly anti-Castro U.S. presidential administration ever." He says that like it's a bad thing to staunchly oppose a murderous butcher. "He has appointed a number of anti-Castro Cubans to high administration positions." What is going to do, appoint pro-Castro people? Sheesh.

My kids will never go to a public school.

Peggy Noonan on George Bush. Everything she writes rings so true. Is there anyone with a keener insight into our culture and our politics than Peggy Noonan? I don't think so.

Fidel Castro is a murderous, vicious thug who oppresses and tortures his people. Thus, I'll never understand why the Left in America can't get enough of this guy. Read up on how the Castro News Network, oops, sorry, I a mean CNN has reported on this murderer.

They folks that give out the Nobel Prizes ought to make it a policy that former US Presidents can't win the Nobel Peace Prize. The world would be so much better off.

My kids will never go to a public school. Whether I have guns at home is none of the schools damn business.

Great article in the Wall Street Journal on the economics of farming. Read the last sentence in particular. If only the rest of us property owners could get the same deal that the farmers get on taxes, zoning, etc. But alas, hypocrisy reigns.

Yes, I am outraged at the descration of the Church of the Nativity.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As they have done with homosexuality, the left wants to make pedophilia mainstream and "acceptable". I think it takes about 20 years for the process to compete. The gays started in the late 60's to early 70's, and by the early 90's, homosexuality is "just another lifestyle choice" and even taught in schools. We are in the early stages of the process for pedophilia. Judith Levine is manning the skirmish line for a fight that her side will likely win by about 2020. The sad thing is, I don't see any way to stop it.
