I've been reading about the Joint Chiefs hesitancy to attack Iraq, because we simply don't have the manpower and equipment to get it done like it needs to be done. Doubtlessly, DaschleGephardt will whine about this if they can. But no one will ever remember or realize that the reason for this lack of capability was the defense cuts made in the last ten years by a certain Democratic administration. And no one will remember or realize that it was conservatives who constantly tried to remind everyone that "we might not need it now, but we will need it again someday." And so here we are. We need it and don't have it. Wonder how that happened.You can't have it both ways Recently, Bush and his administration were taken to task for allegedly knowing about the 9/11 attacks and not doing anything about it. Now, he/they are being taken to task for knowing about a plot to kill Americans with a "dirty bomb" and doing something about it. So which is it?

There are potential rules changes coming down the pike for the NBA.When asked about how the league might deal with Shaq's dominance, Commissioner David Stern said
"I did say to one owner: 'Perhaps we would consider a sixth-man rule' so that all the teams playing the Lakers could have six men on the court as long as Shaquille is in."
That actually sounds fair, seeing as the Lakers are already playing with 8 guys out there.
(Just as a side note to folks, NBA games each have three referees)
